On 11 December, together with Gymnasium Rutesheim, we presented the HOPPS team at the Olgäle with a cheque for an unbelievable 33.333 EUR.
The moment had finally arrived: together with representatives of Gymnasium Rutesheim, we visited the HOPPS team, headed by Prof. Dr. Stefan Bielack, at the Olgäle. 20.000 EUR of the donation came from the proceeds of our benefit concert of 19 October 2019, and the student council (SMV) of Gymnasium Rutesheim contributed a further unbelievable 13.333 EUR.

Great Joy for the HOPPS Team
The HOPPS team was almost lost for words at the magnificent donation. Prof. Bielack called it a “medal-worthy achievement”, and one of the team’s nurses was certain that not even a donation from a well-known VfB footballer could match it. The donation came at exactly the right time, as a new vehicle had just had to be purchased for the team’s daily visits to the roughly 100 children who fall ill each year.
A Strong Partnership with Gymnasium Rutesheim
Gymnasium Rutesheim has been supporting the association “Was uns am Herzen liegt e. V.” for several years. The students of the SMV regularly organise fundraising campaigns for “Was uns am Herzen liegt” and HOPPS entirely on their own initiative. Headmaster Jürgen Schwarz has taken on the patronage of our association’s benefit concerts. By way of thanks in return, we regularly visit Gymnasium Rutesheim with selected musicians for rocking break-time concerts that get the whole school community dancing along.
