Was uns am Herzen liegt e. V.
In 2012
In 2012, we – a handful of dedicated musicians and organisers from the greater Stuttgart area – decided to make the world a little better: our dream was to bring music to the stage that is personally close to our hearts, while supporting a cause that is close to our hearts.
Thanks to our contact with Prof. Stefan Bielack, the medical director of HOPPS, the Olgahospital Stuttgart’s project for the home care of seriously ill children and adolescents, a suitable project to receive the donations was quickly found – and the foundation for “Was uns am Herzen liegt” was laid.
The first concerts
Our first concert took place in 2013 in a small church in Beilstein. Encouraged by the positive response, we decided to stage a considerably larger concert at the Friedenskirche Ludwigsburg in 2015.
The success of that concert was overwhelming: with nearly 1,000 sold-out seats, the Friedenskirche was filled to the very last place, and we were able to hand over a total of 25,000 euros in donation proceeds to the HOPPS project.
Founding the association
Fuelled by the overwhelming response and the magic of the concert evening on 24 October 2015, it was quickly decided to hold another benefit concert in October 2017.
To that end, in January 2017 we founded the non-profit association “Was uns am Herzen liegt e. V.”, which serves as our legal framework for organising and staging benefit concerts.
The members of the association
