Two and a half months before the big 2019 concert, the WUAHL team met at Sir Waldo's new snack bar at the Stuttgart TV tower – planning has entered the hot phase.
About two and a half months remain until the big 2019 concert at the Friedenskirche – time for one of our "WUAHL meetings". And in a fantastic location, too: our WUAHL frontman, singer and saxophonist from the James Brown band, Sir Waldo Weathers, has opened a snack bar at the Stuttgart TV tower together with his manager Daniela Merz: "Sir Waldo’s and Daniela’s Soul Snacks". Fuelled by delicious cheeseburgers, chicken wings, shandy and coffee, we had plenty of energy to stay productive late into the night – and in the best of spirits!

The setlist takes shape – our lips are sealed
There is a lot to do: the musical programme (the so-called "setlist") has to be put together and agreed on. Everyone involved contributes song suggestions that – true to our motto – are especially close to their hearts. Usually so much material comes together that we could easily fill the next three concert programmes with it. So what follows is a "trimming down" of the setlist (at times accompanied by heated discussions). The trick is to find the right mix of groovy "power songs" and quiet ballads. The result is well worth seeing and, above all, hearing! Stay curious – we're not giving anything away 🙂
Technology and organisation
Beyond that, the technical aspects of the concert evening need to be planned and organised: who takes care of the PA and audio equipment, who handles the lighting, who provides the musicians on stage with the technology they need? We made very good progress on several key points here.
And last but not least, there might be some wonderful surprises regarding the artist line-up. Here, too, stay curious – nothing will be revealed (yet)!
But one thing is certain: we are all tremendously excited about 19 October 2019 – it is going to be another impressive concert!
