What a moment: at our benefit concert on 17 October, the Gymnasium Rutesheim presented us with a cheque for 10,000 euros for HOPPS on stage at the Friedenskirche. We are overwhelmed – thank you!
The cheque was handed over by head teacher Jürgen Schwarz, for many years the patron of “Was uns am Herzen liegt”, Sara, deputy student representative, and Luisa, the student council’s donation ambassador for our concert. Ten thousand euros – raised by an entire school community for the children cared for by HOPPS.
How so much money comes together
Behind this sum lie countless activities throughout the school year: the winter market with home-made goodies, the chocolate Santas on St Nicholas’ Day, sponsored runs and the flea market in the schoolyard. How students and teachers manage it year after year is something Luisa, Sara and Jürgen Schwarz talk about in the video of Dirk’s visit to Rutesheim: A Visit to the Gymnasium Rutesheim.
Heartfelt thanks, dear Gymnasium Rutesheim!
Since 2015, the Gymnasium Rutesheim has been raising money for HOPPS together with us – year after year, with an incredible amount of heart. Thank you to all the students, to the student council, to the liaison teachers, to all the parents and teachers who took part, and to Jürgen Schwarz, who has carried this partnership for so many years. You can read more about our shared story in our thank-you to the Gymnasium Rutesheim.
Handing over to HOPPS together
In the coming weeks, we will hand over the proceeds of the concert and the Rutesheim donation to HOPPS together – alongside Jürgen Schwarz, Sara and Luisa. We will keep you posted here on our website.
